Advisory Council

Expanding structural oversight and public safety through expert evaluation and community peer structures.

Strategic Advisory Architecture

To scale Project Orange Luminate responsibly, our leadership relies on specialized advisory boards that connect clinical expertise with widespread youth mobilization.

1. The Medical Advisory Panel (The Experts)

Instead of relying solely on research online, the cabinet invites professionals from the medical and research fields to act as dedicated mentors. This panel establishes our clinical accuracy and helps solidify our educational credibility.

Target Recruitment

Leukemia lab researchers, oncology doctors or nurses, and blood health advocates. Primary outreach will target clinical researchers at Mount Sinai and contacts within the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Bulletproof Fact-Checking

This panel serves as the ultimate verification resource for the VP of Advocacy (Ayath Khan) to cross-reference blood health facts before they are sent to the VP of Media & Outreach (Somaya Karim) for Fact Friday digital media posts.

Educational Integration

Members will be invited to serve as guest speakers at our three community events or participate in virtual panels via Zoom to educate students on modern laboratory research and blood health, as well as raise awareness.

2. The Youth Advisory Board (The Teens)

To maintain a student-led movement, a formal peer network will be established to extend advocacy beyond the five-member founding cabinet. This board links active student communities directly into our core project campaigns.

Target Recruitment

Proactive high school students from the school system who exhibit a strong interest in pre-med, biology, or non-profit management.

District-Wide Growth

Board members will serve as school ambassadors to help scale the initiative from a single party to locations around the state, and eventually to the nation.

High-Impact Feedback & Mobilization

Members will collaborate directly with the VP of Event Coordination (Aileen Chen) to evaluate which student-facing events—such as Orange-Out sports games or patient letter campaigns—will yield the highest teen engagement. Additionally, the VP of Membership (Jahvon Jerome) will utilize this board as a direct pipeline to recruit, document, and mobilize trusted student volunteers when executing large-scale fundraisers.
